I left Benton, Kentucky early yesterday morning and headed south towards Shreveport and the Red River. It is only about an eight hour drive, but I wanted to get there early enough to prep my boat and tackle for today's practice. Near Memphis, I saw first hand the extensive flooding from the Mississippi River. In places, it came within several feet of the highway. I can only hope the water levels on the Red River continues to drop as projected.
Give-Away news: We've heard from Roy Mims! Congratulations, Roy! Check here tomorrow evening for the next lucky winner and what I'll be giving away this week.
My parents live on L. Barkley and say they've never seen the lake so high. Fortunately they're high on a bluff, but lots of the low areas for parking and ramping are shut down at the moment.
ReplyDeleteThat's an incredible amount of water. I'm sure the picture doesn't do it justice.
ReplyDeleteKeep up the great work Joe, I enjoy your fishing shows!
ReplyDeleteThat doesn't look fun Joe. Come back to Ohio. We only have minor flooding, but we also have a crazy Bronzeback bite right now!

ReplyDeleteGood luck out there! I have been killing it all of the flooded sections. Loosing quite a few jigs to tree roots, but catching some fantastic bass.
